Duke Energy is asking us to decrease our use of electricity until Monday at 10 am. As people return to work and the demand for power increases, it could lead to power outages that are very dangerous in this cold weather. Here are some ways we can all help:
- Keep the thermostat at the lowest possible temperature.
- Avoid using appliances like dishwashers, ovens, and dryers in the morning. Instead, use them in the late evening when demand is lower.
- If you have an electric car, charge it at night.
- Limit use of hot water if you have an electric water heater.
Hopefully, if we all do our part, we can keep the power on for everyone!
