Mauna Loa, the world's largest active volcano, began erupting on Sunday night after a 40-year rest. In the video below, you can see the moment it began erupting in infrared!
At the moment, the lava flow is heading towards uninhabited areas, and none of the nearby communities are threatened. Authorities say they will have plenty of warning if evacuations become necessary and will continue monitoring the situation.
