The election is DONE, the barrage of political ads has come to an end.Ā Here are five ways to unwind now that it's the weekend...

1.Ā Unplug.Ā Just signing off social media or turning off your phone for a few hours can help.Ā And definitely don't check work emails.

2.Ā Listen to music.Ā Research shows that listening to music can help slow your heart rate and lower blood pressure.Ā It doesn't have to be relaxing classical music . . . just something you like.

3.Ā Get outside.Ā Take a walk or go for a bike ride this weekend.Ā Or even just drive around with the windows down so you can feel the wind on your face.

4.Ā Do something creative.Ā Write in a journal, draw a picture, take some photos, or decorate a room in your house for the holidays.Ā Letting your mind get some creative energy out can be therapeutic and rejuvenating.

5.Ā Snuggle your pet.Ā It's been shown to help relieve anxiety and depression.Ā And hopefully your pet will enjoy it too.
