Reba McEntire shared the moment her team surprised her on the set of Happy’s Place.

The legendary country artist recently celebrated her 50-year anniversary of starting her career in music. McEntire, 70, wrote in a caption on Instagram on Tuesday (November 18) that “my team surprised me on set at [Happy’s Place] last Tuesday night - 50 years to the day since I signed my first recording contract! I’m so thankful for everyone who’s been a part of these last 50 years. I love you with all my heart!”

McEntire signed her first record deal on November 11, 1975. She’s since released 32 studio albums and sold more than 58 million records worldwide, states a press release issued last week. MCA CEO Mike Harris said the press release that “Reba’s impact on country music is immeasurable. For fifty years, she’s set the standard for artistry, authenticity, and work ethic — inspiring generations of artists and fans alike. It’s an incredible honor for all of us at MCA to celebrate this milestone with her and continue the journey with one of the most defining voices in our genre.”

McEntire stars in Happy’s Place alongside real-life fiancé Rex Linn, plus Belissa EscobedoPablo CastelblancoTokala Black Elk and Melissa Peterman, who also starred with McEntire in Reba in the early 2000s. McEntire plays Bobbie, “a tough but lovable woman who inherits her late father’s Tennessee tavern - only to discover that her new co-owner is also the half-sister she never knew she had,” per NBC. “They couldn’t be more different, but they’ll navigate this new life together... because at Happy’s Place, everyone is family.”

McEntire said in an interview with iHeartCountry earlier this year that “it is very important to have heart in there,” in a successful sitcom. “You gotta laugh, but you gotta cry. You’ve got to hit all of those emotions.” She added of her Happy’s Place cast, “we love each other. We respect each other’s opinion on things, their individual lifestyle, their background, their heritage. It’s a fun family.”
