It’s easy to do the right thing when everyone’s watching, but what about when no one else is around? A teenager in Canada who found a box filled with cash proved there are still honest people out there because she turned the money in to police.
Officials say an unnamed 17-year-old was walking down a street in Milton, Ontario when she saw the package sitting on the ground. She looked inside and found bank deposit envelopes and thousands of dollars in cash. This girl easily could’ve kept the money, but she turned it in to police and they were able to track down the local business who lost the money.
A police spokesperson says, “It is acts of honesty and civic duty like this that replenishes faith in the good-hearted nature of the majority of youth in our community.”
