Would this make it easier to fly with a crying baby?

I think this mama is a Genius! Mom has a four month old that she had to take on a flight with her and she KNEW the baby would probably cry, so she handed out 200+ goodie bags to the other passengers. The bags were full of candy and earplugs. The mom, her mother and the baby were on a flight from South Korea to San Francisco and to try to win the affection of the other passengers she handed out the bags that contained a note "from" the child that said, 'Hello, I'm Junwoo and I'm 4 months old. Today, I am going to the U.S. with my mom and grandma to see my aunt. I'm a little bit nervous and scary [sic] because it's my first flight, which means that I may cry or make too much noise. I will try to go quietly, though I can't make any promises... Please excuse me. So my mum prepared little goodie bag for you! It is some candies and earplugs. Please use them when it's too noisy because of me. Enjoy your trip. Thank you.' I definitely think it would help and put most of the passengers in a good mood. I've been on a flight with a cranky kid before and it's no fun, I can promise you that, but if you have children, that's what they do. They cry at the most inopportune times AND they feed off your stress and the stress of everyone around you. Good job, mama! Hopefully the baby slept like this little one!
