Corporal Kevin Brewington, an army veteran from Jonesville, South Carolina, just received an amazing gift for Christmas this year -- his mortgage was paid off and his home was renovated to make it wheelchair accessible! "It has taken a financial burden off of our family," Brewington said. Brewington is married with two young children. You can see photos in the video below.

Brewington lost both of his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan, and he was medically retired from the Army in 2013 after almost 50 surgeries and more than a year of therapy. Despite this, he has been working with non-profits to assist other vets.

The Tunnels to Towers Foundation, an organization that helps first responders and military heroes, put in new flooring to make it easier for Brewington to get around in his wheelchair, and renovated his kitchen and bathroom to make them wheelchair accessible. They also installed technology that permits him to control the lights and security system from an app on his phone.

Tunnels to Towers has given more than 200 mortgage-free homes to our nation's heroes in just the past year alone, and they do it through donations.
