Disney has helped a dying “Star Wars” fan get his final wish to see the newest movie in the franchise, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” before its release date. Rowans Hospice in the U.K. took to Twitter to make the special request for its patient, writing “time is not on his side” for the December 20th release date there.
Luke Skywalker himself - actor Mark Hamill - wished the hospice “good luck” with the request and Disney’s Chairman and CEO Bob Iger the tweeted the good news that the company would let him have an early viewing. “On this Thanksgiving, we at @Disney are grateful to be able to share #TheRiseOfSkywalker with a patient and his family … May the force be with you and with us all!,” he writes.
The patient got to watch the movie with his son on a special laptop sent by Disney and is extremely thankful to Disney for making it happen.
