Couple Finds Civil War Era Cannonballs On South Carolina Beach

People often love the chance to walk along the beaches in this country so they collect some of the most beautiful shells, pieces of wood and other treasures. What people aren't expecting is to come across Civil War cannonballs next to those shells.

A couple searching for treasures along Folly Beach near Charleston, South Carolina found two Civil War-era cannonballs unearthed by the recent Hurricane Dorian.

Aaron Lattin and his girlfriend discovered the cannonballs on Sunday near a pile of brush on the beach and thought they were some really cool looking rocks. When they got closer to inspect is when they realized those weren't rocks.

The storm has swept up the East Coast after devastating parts of the Bahamas and it caused many items to be unearthed that have been lying dormant for years.
