French’s Creates Mustard Ice Cream For National Mustard Day

If you’re worried that you haven’t nailed down your National Mustard Day plans yet, have no fear, French’s has you covered. The mustard makers are celebrating their special holiday, which is today, with mustard-flavored ice cream.

French’s and Coolhaus ice cream shops have teamed up on the bright yellow concoction, which will be available at Coolhaus’s New York City and Los Angeles locations later this week and their Culver City shop from August 9th to 11th.

The folks at Delish got to taste the mustard ice cream ahead of its release and say “it’s really not so bad.” While the radioactive yellow color is “extremely off-putting,” one editor says once “you get it in your mouth, it has a very nice creamy texture to it,” adding, “It doesn’t kill you.” And if that’s not a ringing endorsement, others who smelled or tasted it say it smells like cotton candy and bubble gum and “doesn’t taste like mustard.”
