They say “no good deed goes unpunished,” and that certainly – tragically – was the case for a Florida man who was handing out 20-dollar bills to pay for the meals of other customers at a Florida Waffle House Sunday night.
Police say that Craig Brewer was shot in the head during a fight at the Gainesville restaurant. According to witnesses, the 41-year-old man was picking up customers' tabs and handing out the cash before getting into an argument with a woman. Apparently, she was apparently upset because Brewer hadn’t paid for her meal.
That’s allegedly when her friend, 25-year-old Ezekiel Hicks, drew a gun and fired multiple shots at Brewer's head. Hicks was arrested at the scene and is being held without bail on charges of first-degree premeditated murder and carrying an unlicensed firearm.
