Many people have fond memories of their childhood, and it seems for most folks, some of the earliest tend to revolve around he same things, like food, holidays, vacations and more.
A new UK poll, which could easily translate here, finds that 60% of people believe they remember their childhood with some sort of accuracy, although 20% admit seeing things through “rose tinted glasses.” As for how far back they can remember, most people say they can’t remember anything earlier than age four, with folks saying their earliest memory is age six.
So, what exactly are the most common childhood memories for most people? Well, topping the list is Christmas dinner, followed by going to the beach, and going to their grandparents’ house. Other early memories include:
- Hearing the ice-cream truck music
- Playing in the park
- Getting pocket money
- Buying penny sweets from the village shop
- Learning to ride a bike
- Playing playground games
- Getting a pet
