Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams Paisley are opening a free grocery in Nashville to help those in need, and now that store is one step closer to happening.
Brad and his wife were on hand to break ground on what’s being called “The Store,” which is opening in partnership with Belmont University. It will offer both fresh and nonperishable groceries to individuals in need for one year, with a goal of feeding 3,000 people. And Brad took his job very seriously, actually getting into a back hoe to physically help dig up the area for the facility.
“Our goal is to give dignity to parents,” Brad shares. “They can go to The Store and shop in a completely normal way, from choosing the food to checking out, but with no money exchanging hands. “ He adds, “The kids can even ride a mechanical pony out in front of The Store – no charge. Kids do not need the stress of wondering how their parents are going to feed them. In Nashville we have the power of the benevolence of the residents to support The Store.”
