When we last checked in on Heisman Trophy winner turned hardball hopeful Tim Tebow, he was rumored to be making the Mets MLB roster last September. But those hopes were dashed when he suffered a broken hamate bone in his hand, which sidelined him for the season.
Well, that hand is fully healed now and there’s a good chance we may get to see just how well it has in a few months. At least according to the Mets new GM Brodie Van Wagenen who said that Tebow might be with the Major League club.
The expectation is that Tebow will open the year with Triple-A Syracuse. But speaking on the matter, Van Wangenen did not rule out the possibility that he could make the Opening Day roster.
And let’s face it, the struggling Mets could use a shining star right now.
