A man who just finished jogging from Alaska to Florida popped a bottle of champagne as soon as he completed the nearly 54-hundred mile run. Thirty-one-year-old Pete Kostelnick says he kept a strong and steady pace. He began his journey on July 31st at Anchor Point on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, the westernmost point of the North American highway system. He finished it yesterday as he arrived at the marker in Key West that designates the southernmost point in the continental United States. Kostelnick is apparently the first person to complete a self-supported run, without relying on an accompanying support vehicle, from Alaska to Florida.
