Loretta Lynn will be honored with the Artist of a Lifetime Award at next month’s CMT Artist of the Year celebration. Sissy Spacek, who won an Oscar playing Loretta in the 1980 film “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” will present Loretta with the award.
“I’m always so proud when I receive any awards for my music, but when I heard it was this year’s ‘Artist of a Lifetime’ award it made me really happy,” Loretta says. “It’s an honor to be able to make music that people enjoy...Thank you CMT for acknowledging me with this award and for honoring the women in country music at ‘Artists of the Year.’”
Previous Artist of the Life Time Award recipients include Merle Haggard, Kenny Rogers and Shania Twain.
CMT’s Artists of the Year will air live from Nashville on October 17th at 8 pm.
