Volkswagen is killing off its iconic Beetle because young consumers have no love for the bug. The German car maker confirmed it is ending production of the Beetle in 2019, but left open the door it might be brought back in the future. The company plans to shift its focus to SUVs and electric cars. The Beetle has been around for nearly 70 years and has many fans. It even starred in a number of Disney movies, beginning with The Love Bug in 1968. Herbie The Love Bug then appeared in four sequels, and a brief CBS television series in 1982. The company plans to sell two special models of the iconic car, the Final Edition SE and Final Edition SEL.
