When Karma Lawrence saw Geoffrey Owens working at Trader Joe’s, she says she just had to have a picture. “I figured everybody does it. I don’t know what possessed me. I just did it," she explains. "I didn’t even think about it. I just kind of did it on impulse and it was a bad impulse."
But when Karma submitted the photos to a few celebrity websites, she now knows that she went too far. After the “Daily Mail” published them and they went viral, the hate mail began and people said she was job shaming the actor best known as Elvin Tibideaux. She's gotten so much of it that she’s shut off all of her social media profiles.
Karma – who made no money for passing off the photo, by the way – regrets her actions and wishes she had thought it through. “I actually wanted to go up to him and say something, but I thought, you might embarrass him,” she said. “Then I did something that actually embarrassed him more.” Better late than never?
But Karma’s misguided action may have gotten Geoffrey a job. As we told you, Tyler Perry reached out to offer him a job on OWN’s number one drama – possibly “The Haves and the Have Nots.” Now we hear that he’s heading down to Atlanta to work.
