Dolly Parton Named Grammys’ MusiCares Person Of The Year

Dolly Parton has won just about every award imaginable in her career. Now she can add the very prestigious "MusiCares Person of the Year" award at the "Grammys" in February. She will become the first country artist to ever receive this award.

She joins an illustrious list of former recipients that include Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and Paul Simon. But maybe the most amazing thing about this award is that out of a total of 27 individual winners, not counting last year’s Fleetwood Mac, only six have been women, including Aretha Franklin.

ONE MORE THING! Dolly is also an active philanthropist, and recently revealed her initiative to inspire children to read more books, by assisting with the "YouTube Kids’ global Reading Month". Dolly, whose father Lee, couldn’t read or write, said, “I believe initiatives like Reading Month in YouTube Kids that encourage kid’s love of reading at an early age are so important.
