A U.S. federal appeals court is upholding the inscription of "In God We Trust" on the country's currency. On Tuesday, the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that America's founding was full of examples of "official acknowledgments" of religion. The court said that the nation's motto doesn't violate either the U.S. Constitution's prohibition of an establishment of religion or the guarantee of the freedom to exercise it. The suit was filed by nearly 30 atheists and two atheist organizations.
