Authorities Confirm: Austin Bombing Suspect Dead

Story Document Authorities in Texas confirm the Austin bombing suspect is dead.  Investigators say the man suspected in a string of bombings this month blew himself up as Austin Police and FBI agents moved in to arrest him early this morning.  Officers and agents tracked the suspect to a hotel in Williamson County, north of Austin.  They say that's where he killed himself.  A high-ranking law enforcement official told the "Austin American-Statesman" investigators were able to identify the suspect in the past 24 hours.   Authorities used information collected after the suspect shipped an explosive device to a FedEx store.  That information included security video and store receipts that showed what investigators call suspicious transactions.  The bombings that started on March 2nd killed two people and injured four others.
