A thief was stopped in his tracks by a good samaritan who stepped up to help a couple in wheelchairs in Waikiki, Hawaii. Donna Ogilvie was waiting for her husband outside an area business when a stranger ran up and took her husband’s phone from his wheelchair.
Ogilvie, who was visiting from Alaska, called for him to stop, but he smiled and ran across the street. That’s when Crystal Palacios heard the woman shouting and spotted the suspect running towards her and stopped him. She grabbed his shirt and when he stumbled, he dropped the stolen phone.
The guy got away, but a local photographer snapped a photo of Palacios saving the day. She says she jumped to help because it was the right thing to do, adding, “Why can’t at least some of us step in and do the right thing, you know?”
