Leah Alderman has to thank the spirit of her grandma for her recent lotto win. The Cumberland, Maryland woman spotted a Ruby Riches scratch off card and decided to pick one up, thinking of her grandma Ruby, who died when Leah was a teenager.

As she was preparing for Thanksgiving dinner, Leah scratched the card and discovered she was $30-thousand richer. “I was shaking when I signed the ticket,” Leah adds. “This is awesome!”

Leah and her fiancé are planning on using their cash to continue the restoration of their dream house. They're also considering using some of the cash to get married.
