While shopping at her local Walmart in Mississippi, Spring Herbison Bowlin witnessed a cashier being patient and kind to an elderly customer. The exchange between the senior gentleman and the cashier moved her so much, she shared it in a Facebook post.
She was in line behind the man and his items were scanned and he was given the total. Bowlin explains that the gentleman looks apologetically back at her and starts taking handfuls of change out of his pockets. He miscounts and starts to get flustered, then he looked back at her and apologized, with his hands and voice shaking.
But that’s when the cashier stepped up. She took his hands, dumped the change on the counter and tells him, “This is not a problem honey. We’ll do this together.” Once the transaction was finished, Bowlin thanked the cashier for being so patient. She shook her head and replies, “You shouldn’t have to thank me, baby. What’s wrong with our world is we’ve forgotten how to love one another.”
