Police Give A Thousand Halloween Costumes To Fire Victims

Thanks to the Santa Rosa Police Department, Halloween is going to be a lot more fun for some California kids. Officers gave away at least a thousand costumes to kids over the weekend and a lot of them had lost their homes and everything else in the recent Sonoma County fires.

There were all kinds of costumes for little trick-or-treaters to choose from, so many some kids had trouble deciding which one to pick. When families arrived at the Santa Rosa Christian Church, they were greeted by Girl Scouts passing out candy and they got to mingle with police and firefighters.

The new Halloween costumes were donated from all over California and the giveaway provided a welcome break from dealing with their losses. Mom Amanda Nowlin says, “This helps make it normal when nothing’s normal right now.”
