Trisha Yearwood Surprised Onstage By Jimmy Carter

53rd Annual ASCAP Country Music Awards - Inside

Trisha Yearwood was surprised onstage by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter during last week's Mercedes-Benz Stadium show in her home state of Georgia. President Carter presented Trisha with a proclamation from the state for her work with HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, which she has assisted in building homes and communities for those who need shelter and aid. "It’s such an honor to receive recognition from my home state of Georgia, and to have President Jimmy Carter, a man who has inspired me, present my proclamation, is truly special," the singer noted. "The work HABITAT FOR HUMANITY does is so important, and I’m humbled to be a part of their organization. I hope to continue working on site builds for a very long time."
