Every other Thursday from Memorial Day weekend through the first week in September, Ride and Dine motorcycle events in North Dakota helped raise money for a great cause - student’s overdue lunch accounts. Hundreds of motorcycle riders showed up to help and folks paid $10 per person for a 30-45 minute ride out of town and back, plus a hot meal.
The group raised more than $8,000 through their Ride and Dine events this summer and donated it to the Bismarck and Mandan public schools to pay down school lunch debts.
"I’m very, very grateful for the money that we’re getting," says Michelle Wagner, Bismarck Public Schools director of child nutrition. "We have a new policy in place and we’re just kind of going through those steps and we’re working on paying off that debt."
