Garth Brooks skipped his weekly “Inside Studio G” yesterday and instead shared a message with fans following the deadly attack at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas.
Garth admits he “saw a lot of bad things” after the tragedy, but adds that he also saw “a lot of courage, a lot of love” and thanked all the first responders and volunteers who helped out. He sent out all his love to the victims, their families, as well as the bands and crews, noting that he was “very proud” about how the audiences protected each other, adding that “character flows in country music.”
He also talked about his favorite movie “Starman” and shared his favorite line which he felt was very appropriate for the occasion. When the alien, played by Jeff Bridges, is asked what he learned about folks on Earth, he response, “when things are at your worst, you are at your best.”
Finally, Garth admitted he didn’t even want to go live but felt the need to say something. He said that while he has some time before his next show, he can’t imagine how artists who have to go on stage right away must feel but insisted “the show must go on,” sharing that the public needs the music, and the “power of that healing.”
