Chris Stapleton Doesn’t Need Flashy Extras On Stage

Chris Stapleton kicked off his latest tour last week, and fans who come out to see him this summer shouldn’t expect any flashy stage set up or pyrotechnics.

"The show isn't about screens, and we don't have any video content or lasers or things blowing up," he tells “Rolling Stone.” "I want people to come to our show to listen. I want the show to be the music."

Chris is touring in support of his recently released album “From A Room: Volume 1,” which was recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, which is where the title comes from.

“That whole room is a sweet spot,” Chris says, noting that it’s one of only a few places that has a certain sound he loves. “The room’s become part of the band. Here in town, the place that has the most of that kind of mojo to me is that room, so that’s what I like about it.”
