Justice Breyer's Cellphone Rings During SCOTUS Hearing

Cellphones and all electronic devices are strictly forbidden in the grand courtroom of the U.S. Supreme Court. So when a phone started ringing during a hearing yesterday, an embarrassed Justice Stephen Breyer quickly scrambled to stop the sound. The ringing interrupted arguments in Bristol-Myers Squibb Company versus the Superior Court of California. While Breyer shut off the phone, some of his colleagues smiled and looked at the ceiling. A court spokeswoman explained Justice Breyer simply forgot he had his phone with him.
