The owner of a Brooklyn parking spot is asking 300-thousand dollars for the right to park there. The space is in this garage on Union Street in Park Slope and doesn't include maintenance fees and taxes. The area features historic buildings, top-rated restaurants and a variety of attractions, such as the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Prices in the area have been rising quickly. A space in the same Park Slope garage sold for 80-thousand dollars just four years ago. Officials with advocacy group Transportation Alternatives say parking spots are getting way too pricey and they think the city should crack down.
