Entertainer David Cassidy says he'll no longer perform because he has dementia. Cassidy announced through his representative on Monday that he's been diagnosed with the brain disorder that destroys memory. The 66-year-old Cassidy acknowledged the diagnosis in an interview with "People" magazine and said he "knew it was coming." Cassidy said he watched his grandfather struggle with dementia and also saw his mother, quote, "disappear" from it. The announcement comes two days after Cassidy forgot song lyrics and slurred his words during a performance near Los Angeles over the weekend. Cassidy starred in the 1970s TV series "The Partridge Family."
