Toymaker Working On Plastic Army Women

For generations kids have played with plastic green Army toy soldiers and in 2020 women will finally get their place in the toy bucket. Pennsylvania-based toy company BMC Toys will launch a new line of plastic Army women next fall just in time for Christmas. BMC owner Jeff Imel said the new product line will feature female soldiers in four different poses and will be offered in packs of 24 figures. Imel says having a set of plastic Army women "will help some kid somewhere be the hero of their own story at playtime and I think that's a good thing for everybody." Imel says he has been "toying" with the idea for several years but it was a letter from a retired service woman asking for female toy soldiers for her granddaughters that jump started his work on the project.
