EDM's Country Collaborator Avicii Dead at 28

The EDM hitmaker who took 2013’s “Hey Brother” to country music prominence has been found dead.

Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, died Friday (April 20) in Muscat, Oman, his publicist has confirmed.

“The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given,” the publicist says in a statement.

“Hey Brother” is featured on Avicii’s 2013 album True, which Billboard calls “glistening country pop.” Bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski provides vocals on the track.

Additionally, Zac Brown appears on "Broken Arrows," a song from the Swedish DJ's sophomore album, Stories. He's also known for hits “Sunshine” with David Guetta, “Levels” and “Wake Me Up”—just to name a few.
